Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025

We had an incredible time at Hadnall C of E Primary School, delivering an assembly on the history of women’s football and running football sessions for every year group as part of the #BiggestEverFootballSession!

It was amazing to see so many young people, both girls and boys get involved and experience the joy of the game.

We also held our first Wildcats-Lionesses session for girls aged 5-11 – and wow, what a fantastic start! The girls had an absolute blast, and we can’t wait for more fun, football-filled sessions.

A huge thank you to the 4 Sports Leaders from Meole Brace School, who supported us in coaching the sessions as part of our youth coaches program. You were fantastic role models for the younger players, and your energy and passion were truly inspiring!

We look forward to many more incredible sessions ahead!

We’re also passionate about attracting more female coaches to join us empowering the next generation. If you’re a female coach or aspiring to be one, we would love to hear from you and have you on board to help us inspire and lead.

Autumn England Opportunities

Over the last few weeks the players at Meole Brace Juniors have had the opportunity to see England Women’s U23’s secure victory over Portugal with player-of-the-match Agyemang proving the difference as she fired home an 86th-minute free-kick in front of a record WU23s’ home crowd of 2953 which Meole Brace players, their families and coaches were part of thanks to tickets provided by Shrewsbury Town F.C.

Then our very own U12 Lions were put through their paces and experienced a day to remember at St. George’s Park having access to areas and opportunities that are normally reserved for the likes of Harry Kane and Leah Williamson. Needless to say they had an amazing time.

A busy first week

It’s been a busy first week of the season for us here at Meole, with lots of exciting things happening on and off the pitch.

It was great to see many of our teams back in action and loving getting playing again despite the rain.

The U13’s Eagles got the opportunity to travel to Wembley to watch England’s win over Finland and had a brilliant time enjoying Harry Kane’s 100th appearance and two goals.

All three of our U8’s teams had a fantastic time on Saturday at the Shrewsbury Town Football Festival. Thanks Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation.

Our Chairman was at St George’s Park enjoying the sunshine and starting the next phase of her coaching journey at the amazing facility.

Not a bad first week back, wishing all our teams a great 2024/2025 season.

Club Presentation Day 2024

We had a brilliant time at our Meole Brace Juniors Football Club Presentation Day, which was held on Sunday 21st July at Bicton Village Hall.

With over 150 players and teams covering ages 6-16 it was a fantastic opportunity to come together as a club community and celebrate everyone’s achievements from last season and look forward to the one to come.

Along with handing out trophies and awards there was lots of entertainment with a cracking hamper raffle provided by the teams, delicious cakes and ice creams from SY-Cakes Gluten Free and King Cone Ice Cream Van, inflatables, games and a BBQ put on by Bicton Village Hall.

We also said a fond au revoir to Chris Roberts who has been involved with the club for more than a decade both as a coach and being a key part in its development, taking on committee roles such as treasurer and most recently Chairman. Massive thanks to Chris for all his support and hard work! Looking to the future, we welcomed our new committee members who are all volunteering their time to keep building on the hard work begun by Chris and others to see Meole Brace Juniors provide even more opportunities for young people to stay physically active, build their confidence, social skills and develop their love of football.
